Edward I.
Moses Walk/Run/Bike for Life 2004
April 25,
2004
Thank you to
all participants, donors, supporters, sponsors,
committee members and friends of the E I Moses
Walk/Run/Bike for Life for your
role in
making the 2004 event the best ever. Nearly 350 people
combined efforts in raising over $60,000. As a result of
this effort $63,162 has been distributed in the battle
to cure, screen for and assist in helping St. Lawrence
County residents deal with the disease of cancer in
2004. The positive response from Gouverneur area
residents following the death of Ryan Saidel and the
continuing effort of participants from throughout the
county resulted in an increase of over $10,000 raised in
the 26th annual event. Since the inception of
the E I Moses Walk/Run for Life over $550,000 has now
been raised to assist County residents in the fight
against cancer. We thank you,
the
participants(past, present and future), our sponsors,
and the donors for your extra effort. The school raising
the most money this year was awarded the Ryan B. Saidel
Trophy, Gouverneur Central with $12,865 was the
recipient, Team Terri received the Richard E Winter
Award as the top group with $5997, Charles Saidel
received the Nicholas Mackey award as the top individual
fund raiser with $5615 collected and ten people raised
over $1000. Jean Hayes and Ryan Saidel received the
Terri Curtis award for raising over $10,000 in their
years of participation. Ten Grand prizes donated by
LeBerge & Curtis-Canton,
Kinney Drugs, Northern Music and Video, The Tread Mill,
Sears-Potsdam, The Maxy Hall Fitness club, Advanced Auto
Parts-Massena, and A-1 Auto Repair-Lousiville
were awarded to participants with contributions of $100
or more and numerous other at random prizes were
presented during the event, at the awards ceremony
following the event or at the awards dinner.
St. Lawrence
County Health Initiative, Hospice of St. Lawrence
Valley, The Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center,
