St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund
The Professional Equine Group had a banner day October 1, raising over $5,000 with 40 vendor booths and several sponsors in an effort to give back to the community. The St Lawrence County Cancer Fund was the recipient of the proceeds. Over 500 people attended the 7 different clinics put on by the group at the Loomis Quarter Horse farm in Waddington.
The St Lawrence County Cancer Fund evolved from the Edward I Moses Walk Run for Life, started in 1979. Recently this group has expanded efforts to other events such as this event to provide additional funds to people in St Lawrence County to prevent, educate and assist the residents of St Lawrence County in dealing with all cancer. Mark Brackett, Board member of St Lawrence County Cancer Fund stated, “This one event held by the Professional Equine Group will allow the Fund to serve more to the people of St Lawrence County in fighting cancer. We are grateful to the hard working people who put this event on for picking the St Lawrence County Cancer Fund as the recipient.”
