Edward
I. Moses Walk/Run for Life April 30, 2006
Thank you to all participants, donors, supporters,
sponsors, committee members, friends of the E
I Moses Walk/Run/Bike for Life, your role in making the
2006 event the most successful in the
twenty eight year history of this event that has now
raised over $700,000 in the St. Lawrence
County battle with the disease of cancer. Three hundred
sixty five participants combined their
efforts by raising over $71,700. As a result of this
year’s effort St. Lawrence County charities,
when money is added to the total from sponsors on the
t-shirts, will have another $75,000 to deal
with cancer related issues in the county. Currently the
following charities in the county are using
2005 funds to aid in the prevention, early diagnosis,
detection, and education related to the
disease of cancer. This year an additional award named
after Bonnie Hayden, former teacher at
Hermon-Dekalb Central School was given to the second
place school. That award was won by
students from Hermon-Dekalb for their efforts in
bringing in $3541. Participants continue to
remember their loved ones(285 mentioned on pledge forms)
by walking, jogging, pushing
strollers, biking, or running to meet their pledge
obligations to their sponsors. Nearly 50 names
will be added to the Grace Dyke-Ware memorial/dedication
plaque as a result of $500 being
raised in their name. One last thank you for your
efforts, the committee’s wish for a rewarding
year, and our hope you will again be a part of the 29th
annual event to be held on April 29, 2007.
Same place & location.
